Material:
The Dominator square aluminum light pole is made of 6061 T6 aluminum which is the same material used in the watercraft, aircraft, and automotive industry. Each basketball court light pole has 4 inch wide sides with a wall thickness of 0.187 inches.
Top Tenon Dimensions:
Poles are provided with a slip-fitting aluminum top tenon. The dimension of the tenon is 2 3/8″ outside diameter with 4 inches in length. Customers should confirm the appropriate tenon size required by their project prior to ordering.
Anchor/Mounting Bolts:
This outdoor basketball light pole includes four (4) J-shaped, fully galvanized anchor bolts and galvanized hardware consisting of three (3) hex nuts, one (1) lock washers and two (2) flat washers as well as one (1) steel anchor bolt template are included. For your convenience, anchor bolts can be pre-shipped for a nominal surcharge.
Base:
A welded base hinge is incorporated into the post making it easy to raise and lower the light post if needed. This makes installation and assembly extremely easy because of the lightweight feature of aluminum and innovative design of the base.
Handhole:
A handhole is located 36 inches above ground. A handhole cover and two (2) stainless steel bolts are included. We recommend putting a switch and cover here to make it easy to turn your light on and off.

What are recommended court dimensions?
If you’re creating a dedicated court, we recommend pouring concrete that is at least 45′ x 30′. This will fit a full three point line and still leave room to shoot around it. For full court dimensions, click here.
Is this basketball hoop going to last?
The Dominator Basketball Hoop is built to last. We are so confident in our product that we recently upgraded from a 10 year warranty to a lifetime warranty. The aluminum won’t corrode, and neither will the stainless steel hardware.
How high is the quality of the hoop
At Dominator, quality is our number one concern. Every detail of our basketball hoop is meticulously engineered to give the highest quality. The welds, the materials, and the engineering have all been hand picked to ensure that this is the highest quality hoop on the market.
How is this hoop different from other hoops of its class?
The Dominator Basketball Hoop and its competitors both have rims, backboards and are made for playing basketball. That’s where the similarities end – we have completely reinvented the outdoor basketball hoop. We use aluminum instead of steel, telescoping height adjustments instead of parallel linkage systems and a single extension arm instead of four tentacles. How much space do I need behind the hoop?
The crank handle extends just 8″ from the base pole. We recommend an additional 4-8″ for comfortable height adjustments, for a total of 12-16″ behind the hoop. Competitor systems use a parallel linkage system for height adjustments, meaning they have metal arms extending behind the hoop that extend even further as the hoop is lowered. This requires much more room than the sleek telescoping height adjustment the Dominator uses.
Is glass more prone to break than acrylic?
No, both are equally likely to break, they just break differently. Glass shatters while acrylic cracks, but either way the backboard becomes useless once it has broken.
Will this hoop rust?
No, this hoop will never rust. Aluminum has no iron in it, meaning it cannot bond with oxygen to form rust. The stainless steel hardware is also rust-free.
How long does the hoop take to install?
Generally it takes two adults 45 minutes to an hour to assemble. This will vary depending on the level of expertise of the adults. For help with hoop assembly, checkout our installation videos.
Can I install the hoop if concrete has already been poured?
Yes, but it leaves you with two options. The easiest option is to install the hoop directly adjacent to the already poured concrete. The second option is to use a jackhammer to break through the already poured concrete, which is doable but discouraged.
How low does the hoop go?
Our hoop lowers to 7′. Any lower than that is a violation of the ASTM standard. Having the hoop go any lower is a safety hazard for young children. 7′ is low enough for young children to shoot on the hoop and have fun, but lowering to 5′ increases the safety hazard.
Does Dominator do installations?
